upapatti prakaran se pratipadit arth ke sadhan mean jo yukti prastut ki jati hai use 'upapatti' kahate haian-'prakaran pratipadyarthasadhane tatr tatr shrooyamana yukti: upapati:'. jnan ke sadhan mean upapatti ka mahatvapoorn sthan hai. atmajnan ki prapti mean jo tin kramik shreniyaan upanishadoan mean batalaee gee haian unamean manan ki siddhi upapatti ke hi dvara hoti hai. ved ke upadesh ko shrutivakyoan se prathamat: sunana chahie (shravan) aur tadanantar unaka manan karana chahie (manan). yuktiyoan ke sahare hi koee tatv dridh aur hridayangam bataya ja sakata hai. bina yukti ke manan niradhar rahata hai aur yah atmavishvas nahian utpansan kar sakata. manan ki siddhi ke anantar nididhyasan karane par hi atma ki poorn sadhana nishpann hoti hai. 'mantavyashchopapattibhi:' ki vyakhya mean mathuri upapatti ko hetu ka paryay manati hai.[1]
