hazari prasad dvivedi ke lie itihas ka arth atit se lagav bilkul nahian tha. ve atit ki charadivari mean apani suraksha nahian khojate balki atit se vartaman ki muthabhe d ko zaroori manate haian. namavar ji likhate haian ki "itihas unake lie ek shav tha aur isamean tanik bhi sandeh nahian ki is 'shav sadhana' mean bhi unaki drishti ke sammukh manushy ka bhavishy tha." vastutah dvivedi ji mean itihas ka vivek to hai hi, paranpara ka bodh bhi hai. paranpara ke bhitar srijan aur sangharsh ka bodh dvivedi ji ke poore chiantan mean hai. isi se unaki itihas drishti nirmit hoti hai.

'sahaj sadhana' nam ki pustak mean unhoanne likha hai ki "srishti ki lila mean ek taraf avatar hota hai, doosari taraf uddhar. kabhi koee prabhavi hota hai, to kabhi koee lekin adhunikata ne 'uddhar' ko mahatv diya hai aur yahi adhunik manavatavad hai, jisamean vyashti manushy ko nahian, samashti-manushy ko mukt karane ki kamana hai."

dvivedi ji ke chintan se jo bat nikalakar ati hai, vah yah hai ki paranpara manushy ko usake paripoorn roop mean samajhane mean sahayata deti hai. adhunikata usake bina sanbhav nahian hai. paranpara, adhunikata ko adhar deti hai, use shushk, niras aur buddhi vilas banane se bachati hai. usake prayasoan ko arth deti hai, use asanyat hone se bachati hai. ye donoan paraspar virodhi nahian, paraspar poorak haian.
