अन्य विवरण सविनय अवज्ञा आन्दोलन के दौरान जब अंग्रेज़ अधिकारियों ने अहिंसक प्रदर्शन कर रहे आन्दोलनकारियों पर गोलियाँ चलाने की आज्ञा दी, तब चन्दन सिंह गढ़वाली ने गोली चलाने से इंकार कर दिया। इस पर उन्हें पदच्युत करके दण्डित किया गया।
