atm jnanasvaroop haian; usaka in padarthoan se n to koee sambandh hai aur n usamean koee vivad ki hi bat hai. asti-nasti (hai-nahian), sagun-nirgun, bhav-abhav, saty-mithya adi roop se jitane bhi vad-vivad haian, sabaka mool karan bhedadrishti hi hai. isamean sandeh nahian ki is vivad ka ka koee prayojan nahian hai; yah sarvatha vyarth hai tathapi jo log mujhase—apane vastavik svaroop se vimukh haian, ve is vivad se mukt nahian ho sakate . uddhavaji ne poochha—bhagavanh! apase vimukh jiv apane kiye hue puny-papoan ke phalasvaroop ooanchi-nichi yoniyoan mean jate-ate rahate haian. ab prashn yah hai ki vyapak atma ka ek sharir se doosare sharir mean jana, akarta ka karm karana aur nity-vastu ka janm-maran kaise sambhav hai ? govind! jo log atmajnan se rahit haian, ve to is vishay ko thik-thik soch bhi nahi sakate. aur is vishay ke vidvanh sansar mean prayah milate nahian, kyoanki sabhi log apaki maya ki bhool-bhulaiya mean p de hue haian. isaliye ap hi kripa karake mujhe isaka rahasy samajhaiye . bhagavan shrikrishna ne kaha—priy uddhav! manushyoan ka man karm-sanskaroan ka puanj hai. un sanskaroan ke anusar bhog prapt karane ke laye usake sath paanch indriyaan bhi lagi huee haian. isi ka nam hai liangasharir. vahi karmoan ke anusar ek sharir se doosare sharir mean, ek lok se doosare lok mean ata-jata rahata hai. atma is liangasharir se sarvatha prithakh hai. usaka ana-jana nahian hota; parantu jab vah apane ko liangasharir hi samajh baithata hai, usi mean ahankar kar leta hai, tab use bhi apana jana-ana pratit hone lagata hai . man karmoan ke adhin hai. vah dekhe hue ya sune hue vishayoan ka chintan karane lagata hai aur kshan bhar mean hi unamean tadakar ho jata hai tatha unhian poorvachintit vishayoan mean lin ho jata hai. dhire-dhire usaki smriti, poorvapar ka anusandhan bhi nasht ho jata hai . un devadi shariroan mean isaka itana abhinivesh, itani tallinata ho jati hai ki jiv ko apane poorv sharir ka smaran bhi nahian rahata. kisi bhi karan se sharir ko sarvatha bhool jana hi mrityu hai . udar uddhav! jab yah jiv kisi bhi sharir ko abhed-bhav se ‘maian’ ke roop mean svikar kar leta hai, tab use hi janm kahate haian, thik vaise hi jaise svapanakalin aur manorathakalin sharir mean abhiman karana hi svapan aur manorath kaha jata hai . yah vartaman deh mean sthit jiv jaise poorv deh ka smaran nahian karata, vaise hi svapan ya manorath mean sthit jiv bhi pahale ke svapn aur manorath ko smaran nahian karata, pratyut us vartaman svapn aur manorath mean poorv siddh hone par bhi apane ko navin-sa hi samajhata hai . indriyoan ke ashray man ya sharir ki srishti se atmavastu mean yah uttam, madhyam aur adham ki trividhata bhasati hai. usamean abhiman karane se hi atma bahy aur abhyantar bhedoan ka hetu maloom p date lagata hai, jaise dusht putr ko utpann karane vala pita putr ke shatru-mitr adi ke liye bhed ka hetu ho jata hai . pyare uddhav! kal ki gati sookshm hai. use sadharanatah dekha nahian ja sakata. usake dvara pratikshan hi shariroan ki utpatti aur nash hote rahate haian. sookshm hone ke karan hi pratikshan hone vale janm-maran nahian dikh p date .
