'anek doshoan se yukh‍t, jnan viruddh evan kalh‍yan nashak karm ap jaise jnanavan purush nahian phansate haian. rajan ! yog ke ath aang – yam, niyam,asan, pranayam, prath‍yahar, dharana, dhh‍yan, aur samadhi se samh‍panh‍n, amangaloan ka nash karane vali tatha shrutiyoan aur sh‍mritiyoan ke sh‍vadhh‍yay se bhali bhaanti dridh. ki huee jo uth‍tam buddhi kahi gayi hai, ap mean sthit hai. ‘arth sankat, dush‍tar du:kh tatha sh‍vajanoan par ayi huee vipattiyoan mean ap jaise jnani sharirik aur manasik du:khoan se pidit nahian hote.' ‘poorvakal mean mahath‍ma raja janak ke anh‍t:karan ko sthir karane vale karane vale kuchh shh‍lokoan ka gan kiya tha. maian un shh‍lokoan ka varnan karata hooan,ap suniye--.
‘sara jagath manasik aur sharirik du:khoan se pidit hai. un donoan prakar ke du:khoan ki shaanti ka yah upay sankshep aur vish‍tar se suniye. ‘rog, apriy ghatanaoan ki prapti, adhik parishram t‍tha priy vash‍tuoan ka viyog—in char karanoan se sharirik du:kh praph‍t hota hai.' ‘samay par in charoan karanoan ka pratikar karana evan kabhi usaka chinh‍tan n karana – ye do kriya yog (du:kh nivarak upay ) haian. inh‍hian se adhi-vh‍yadhi ki shanti hoti hai. ‘at: buddhiman tatha vidvanh purush, priy vachan bolakar tatha hitakar bhogoan ki prapti karakar pahale manushh‍yoan ke manasik du:khoan ka hi nivaran kiya karate haian. ‘kh‍yoanki man mean du:kh hone par sharir bhi santaph‍t hone lagata hai; thik vaise hi jaise tapaye hue lohe ko dal dene par gh de mean rakha hua shital jal bhi garam ho jata hai. ‘isalie jal se agni ko shanh‍t karane ki bhaanti jnan ke dvara manasik du:kh ko shanh‍t karana chahie. man ka du:kh mit jane par manushh‍y ke sharir ka du:kh bhi door ho jatahai.'

‘man ke du:kh ka mool karan kh‍ya hai ? isaka pata lagane par ‘sh‍neh,(sansar mean asakti) ki hi upalabdhi hoti hai. isi sh‍neh ke karan hi jiv kahian asakh‍t hota hai aur du:kh pata hai.' ‘du:kh ka mool karan hai asakti. asakti se hi bhay hota hai. shok, harsh tatha kh‍lesh. in sab ki prapti bhi asakti ke karan se hoti hai. asakti se hi vishayoan mean bhav aur anurag hote haian. ye donoan hi amangalakari haian. inamean bhi pahala arthat vishayoan ke prati bhav mahanh anarth karak mana gaya hai. ‘ jaise khokhaloan mean lagi huee ag samh‍poorn vriksh ko j d- mool sahit jalakar bhash‍m kar deti hai, usi prakar vishayoan ke prati tho di- si bhi asakti dharm aur arth donoan ka nash kar deti hai.' ‘vishayoan ke praph‍t n hone par jo unaka tyag karata hai, vah th‍yagi nahian hai; apitu jo vishayoan ke praph‍t hone par bhi unamean dosh dekhakar unaka parith‍yag karata hai – vahi vairagh‍y ko praph‍t hota hai. usake man mean kisi ke prati dvesh- ‌bhav n hone ke karan vah niravair tatha banh‍dhanamukh‍t hotahai. ‘isalie mitroan tatha dhanarashi ko pakar inake prati sneh (asakti)n kare . apane sharir se utpann huee asakti ko jnan se nivrith‍t kare. ‘jo jnani, yogayukh‍t, shash‍trajn tatha man ko vash mean rakhane vale haian, un par asakti ka prabhav usi prakar nahian p data, jaise kamal ke path‍te par jal nahian thaharata.' ‘rag ke vashibhoot hue purushoan ko kam apani or akrishh‍t kar leta hai. phir usake man mean kamabhog ki ichh‍chha jag uthati hai. tath‍pashh‍chat trishh‍na badhane lagati hai. trishh‍na sabase badhakar papishh‍th hai (pap mean pravritti karane vali) tatha nith‍y udveg karane vali batayi gayi hai. usake dvara pray: adharm hi hota hai. vah ath‍yanh‍t bhayankar papabanh‍dhan mean dalane vali hai.
