maharshi patanjali ke yog ko hi raj yog ya ashtaang yog kaha jata hai. yog ke ukt ath aangoan mean hi sabhi tarah ke yog ka samavesh ho jata hai. bhagavan buddh ka 'ashtaangik marg' bhi yog ke ukt ath aangoan ka hi hissa hai. halaanki 'yogasootr' ke ashtaang yog buddh ke bad ki rachana hai. 19vian shatabdi mean svami vivekanand ne 'raj yog' ka adhunik arth mean prayog arambh kiya tha.[1]

yogoan ka raja

sabhi yogoan ka raja 'raj yog' ko kaha jata hai, kyoanki isamean pratyek prakar ke yog ki kuchh n kuchh samagri avashy mil jati hai. raj yog mean patanjali dvara rachit 'ashtaang yog' ka varnan ata hai. raj yog ka vishay chittavrittiyoan ka nirodh karana hai. maharshi patanjali ne samahit chitt valoan ke lie abhyas aur vairagy tatha vikshipt chitt valoan ke lie kriyayog ka sahara lekar age badhane ka marg sujhaya hai. in sadhanoan ka upayog karake sadhak ke kleshoan ka nash hota hai, chitt prasann hokar jnan ka prakash phailata hai aur vivekakhyati prapt hoti hai.

yoganganushthanadh ashuddhikshaye jnanadiptira vivekakhyateah.[2]

ath aang

'raj yog' ka sarvadhik prachalan aur mahattv hai. isi yog ko 'ashtaang yog' ke nam se janate haian. ashtaang yog arthat yog ke ath aang. darasal patanjali ne yog ki samast vidyaoan ko ath aangoan mean shrenibaddh kiya. lagabhag 200 ee. poo. mean unhoanne ne yog ko likhit roop mean sangrahit kiya aur 'yogasootr' ki rachana ki. yogasootr ki rachana ke karan patanjali ko "yog ka pita" kaha jata hai. yah ath aang haian- yam, niyam, asan, pranayam, pratyahar, dharana, dhyan, samadhi. ukt ath aangoan ke apane-apane upaang bhi haian. vartaman mean yog ke tin hi aang prachalan mean haian- 'asan', 'pranayam' aur 'dhyan'.[1]

200 ee. poo. rachit maharshi patanjali ka 'yogasootr' yog darshan ka pratham vyavasthit aur vaijnanik adhyayan hai. yog darshan nimn char vistrit bhagoan, jinhean is granth mean 'pad' kaha gaya hai, mean vibhajit hai-

  1. samadhipad
  2. sadhanapad
  3. vibhootipad
  4. kaivalyapad

pratham pad ka mukhy vishay chitt ki vibhinn vrittiyoan ke niyaman se samadhi ke dvara atm sakshatkar karana hai. dvitiy pad mean paanch bahirang sadhan- 'yam', 'niyam', 'asan', 'pranayam' aur 'pratyahar' ka vivechan hai. tritiy pad mean aantarang tin 'dharana', 'dhyan' aur 'samadhi' ka varnan hai. isamean yogabhyas ke dauran prapt hone vali vibhinn siddhiyoan ka bhi ullekh hua hai, kintu rrishi ke anusar ve samadhi ke marg ki badhaean hi haian. chaturth kaivalyapad mukti ki vah paramochch avastha hai, jahaan ek yog sadhak apane mool srot se ekakar ho jata hai.

ashtaang yog sadhan

doosare hi sootr mean yog ki paribhasha dete hue patanjali kahate haian- "yogashchitt vrittinirodhah." arthat "yog chitt ki vrittiyoan ka sanyaman hai." chitt vrittiyoan ke nirodh ke lie patanjali ne dvitiy aur tritiy pad mean jis ashtaang yog sadhan ka upadesh diya hai, usaka sankshipt parichay nimnanusar hai-

  1. yam - kayik, vachik tatha manasik is sanyam ke lie ahiansa, saty, astey chori n karana, brahmachary jaise aparigrah adi paanch achar vihit haian. inaka palan n karane se vyakti ka jivan aur samaj donoan hi dushprabhavit hote haian.
  2. niyam - manushy ko kartavy parayan banane tatha jivan ko suvyavasthit karate hetu niyamoan ka vidhan kiya gaya hai. inake aantargat shauch, santosh, tap, svadhyay tatha eeshvar pranidhan ka samavesh hai. shauch mean bahy tatha antar donoan hi prakar ki shuddhi samavisht hai.
  3. asan - patanjali ne sthir tatha sukhapoorvak baithane ki kriya ko asan kaha hai. paravarti vicharakoan ne anek asanoan ki kalpana ki hai. vastav mean asan hathayog ka ek mukhy vishay hi hai. inase sanbandhit 'hathayog pradipika' 'gharend sanhita' tatha 'yogashikhopanishadh' mean vistar se varnan milata hai.
  4. pranayam - yog ki yathesht bhoomika ke lie na di sadhan aur unake jagaran ke lie kiya jane vala shvas aur prashvas ka niyaman pranayam hai. pranayam man ki chanchalata aur vikshubdhata par vijay prapt karane ke lie bahut sahayak hai.
  5. pratyahar - iandriyoan ko vishayoan se hatane ka nam hi pratyahar hai. iandriyaan manushy ko bahyabhimukh kiya karati haian. pratyahar ke is abhyas se sadhak yog ke lie param avashyak antarmukhita ki sthiti prapt karata hai.
  6. dharana - chitt ko ek sthan vishesh par keandrit karana hi dharana hai.
  7. dhyan - jab dhyey vastu ka chiantan karate hue chitt tadroop ho jata hai to use dhyan kahate haian. poorn dhyan ki sthiti mean kisi any vastu ka jnan athava usaki smriti chitt mean pravisht nahian hoti.
  8. samadhi - yah chitt ki avastha hai, jisamean chitt dhyey vastu ke chiantan mean poori tarah lin ho jata hai. yog darshan samadhi ke dvara hi moksh prapti ko sanbhav manata hai.[1]

samadhi ki bhi do shreniyaan haian- 'samprajnat' aur 'asamprajnat'. samprajnat samadhi vitark, vichar, anand aur asmitanugat hoti hai. asamprajnat mean satvik, rajas aur tamas sabhi vrittiyoan ka nirodh ho jata hai.
