thulal nrity keral ke prasiddh shastriy nrityoan mean se ek hai. yah ekal nrity hai, jisake tin prakar haian. is nrity ke udbhav ka shrey keral ke prasiddh kaviyoan mean se ek 'kanchan naanbiyar' ko diya jata hai. halaanki 'natyashastr' ke shastriy siddhaantoan par adharit is kala ki takanik kathor nahian hai. nrity ke git saral v saras malayalam bhasha mean likhe hote haian. in mukhar gitoan mean hasy ka put hota hai. prastuti bhi saral hoti hai aur thulal mean jivan ke har din se sidha sanbandh ise lokapriy banata hai. thulal mean upayog hone vale vady yantr 'maddalam' aur 'jhaanjh' haian. jhaanjh bajane vale ki dhun kalakar nartaki (thulakaran) ko gane mean sahayata karati hai.

nrity ki shuruat

jhaanjh bajane vala pahale mangalacharan git gata hai aur tab nartaki sabhi ka abhivadan karati hai. isake bad vah pith ki taraf se sharirik gatividhiyoan ke sath darshakoan ke samane prastut hoti hai. phir dhire dhire darshakoan ke samane ati hai aur poora nrity aranbh hota hai. pahale vah ek kavita gati hai phir sangit dene vale use doharate haian. vah git ke bhav chehare par lati hai, hathoan ke isharoan se aur sharirik mudraoan se usaka chitran kar use arth deti hai. thulal mean is nrity ko kafi mahatv diya jata hai. shuruat se aant tak is nrity mean vividhata ka abhav hai. is ek rasata ki kshatipoorti ke lie kabhi-kabhi nartaki joradar kadamoan ki thap aur talabaddh sharirik bhangimaoan se to dane ka kam karati hai.[1]

thulal nrity ke sabhi prakaroan ko tin shreniyoan mean vargikrit kiya ja sakata hai. ye tinoan prakar vibhinn prakar ki bhesh-bhoosha, nrity aur thulal gitoan ke lay par adharit haian-

ottan

thulal nrityoan mean 'ottan thulal' sabase adhik tatha lokapriy nrity hai. isaki poshak sabase ajib aur prabhavashali hoti hai. safed rang aur lal rang ka lanba tep kamar se bandha hota hai aur ghutane ki lanbaee tak ka ghaghara rahata hai. chhati par vibhinn rangoan ke gahanoan ke sath kaanch aur moti se sajaya jata hai, jo atyadhik chamakila hota hai. kalaee mean peant kie hue lak di ke bhi gahane pahane jate haian. pairoan mean chhote-chhot ghuangharoo bandhe hote haian. hoanthoan ko lal rang se, aankhoan ko kale rang se ranga jata hai. sir par rangin poshak sajaee jati hai. ottam thulal gitoan ke lay aur tal bahut tej hote haian aur nrity ki gati bhi kafi tivr hoti hai.

sithankan thulal mean thulal gitoan ki lay aur tal ottam ki tulana mean tho di dhimi hoti hai aur phalasvaroop isake nrity ki gati bhi dhimi hoti hai. nartaki ottan thulal ki tarah hi ghaghare ka upayog karati haian, lekin baanh, kalaee aur sir nariyal ke lanbe pattoan se saje hote haian. aankhoan ko kala karane ke alava chehare par koee aur sajavat nahian ki jati hai.

parayan

isaki gati dhimi hoti hai. isamean nartaki ka rukhabhi any do se alag hota hai. yahaan nartaki lagabhag kh di hokar isharoan mean gane ka arth batati hai. isamean nrity aur gati bahut kam rahati hai. poshak bhi alag rahati hai. kamar ke asapas lal phooloan jaisa kap da pahana jata hai. sir par kale kap de ka mukut hota hai. gale mean har pahanate haian jo chhati tak ata hai. chehare ko halke pile rang se ranga jata hai.[1]
