jab bat urdoo gazal ki parampara ki ho rahi hoti hai to hamen mir taqi mir, galib adi ki charcha zaroor karani hoti hai. magar bisavin shatabdi men gazal ki charcha ho aur vishesh roop se 1947 ke bad ki urdoo gazal ka zikr ho to usake gesoo snvarane valon men jo nam lie jaenge unamen ahamad faraz ka nam kee pahaluon se mahattvapoorn hai. ahamad ‘faraz’ gazal ke aise shayar hain jinhonne gazal ko janata men lokapriy banane ka qabile-tarif kam kiya. gazal yon to apane kee sau salon ke itihas men adhikatar janata men ruchi ka madhyam bani rahi hai, magar ahamad faraz tak ate-ate urdoo gazal ne bahut se utar-chadhav dekhe aur jab faraz ne apane kalam ke sath samane ae, to logon ko unase ummiden badhin. khushi yah ki ‘faraz’ ne mayoos nahin kiya. apani vishesh shaili aur shabdavali ke sanche men dhal kar jo gazal unhonne pesh ki vah janata ki dhadakan ban gee aur zamane ka hal batane ke lie aeena ban gee. mushayaron ne apane kalam aur apane sngrahon ke madhyam se ahamad faraz ne kam samay men vah khyati arjit kar li jo bahut kam shayaron ko nasib hoti hai. balki agar ye kaha jae to galat n hoga ki iqabal ke bad poori bisavin shatabdi men keval faij aur firak ka nam ata hai jinhen shoharat ki bulandiyan nasib rahin, baki koee shayar ahamad faraz jaisi shoharat hasil karane men kamayab nahin ho paya. usaki shayari jitani khoobasoorat hai, unake vyaktitv ka rakharakhav usase kam khoobasoorat nahin raha.[3]

ahamad faraz ki shayari ke alochakon ka yah bhi manana hai ki ahamad faraz ki shayari ki shoharat am hone ki vajah unaki shayari ki bahari sajavat aur ahamad faraz ka apana sajila vyaktitv hai. lekin pathak ko isase koee farq nahin padata ki unaki shoharat men unake vyaktitv ka kitana hath hai, kyonki shayari ki duniya men bahari chamak-damak adhik samay tak nahin tikati, jabaki ahamad faraz ki shayari dashakon bad aj bhi apani mahatta baraqarar rakhe hue hai. yah sahi ho sakata hai ki ahamad faraz ko khyati mushayaron se mili, par mushayaron par chhae rahane vale kitani hi shayar apani lahak aur chamak khone ke bad atit ka hissa ban ge hain, jabaki ahamad faraz ka pahale se zyada aj maujood hona unaki shayari ke damakham ka pata deta hai.[1]

hijarat yani desh se door rahane ki pida aur apane desh ki yaden apani vishesh shaili aur shabdavali ke sath unake yahan milati hain. kuchh sher denkhen :

vo pas nahin ahasas to hai, ik yad to hai, ik as to hai
dariya-e-judaee men dekho tinake ka sahara kaisa hai.

mulkon mulkon ghoome hain bahut, jage hain bahut, roe hain bahut
ab tumako bataen kya yaro duniya ka nazara kaisa hai.

ai desh se ane vale magar tumane to n itana bhi poochha
vo kavi ki jise banavas mila vo dard ka mara kaisa hai.[1]

faraz ki shayari par hindustan anek samakalin rachanakaron ne apani ray zahir ki hai. majarooh sultanapuri ne ek bar likha ki-

‘‘faraz apane vatan ke mazaloomon ke sathi hain. unhin ki tarah tadapate hain, magar rote nahin. balki un jnjiron ko todate aur bikherate najar ate hain jo unake mashare (samaj) ke jism (sharir) ko jakade hue hain. unaka kalam n keval oonche darje ka hai balki ek shola hai, jo dil se zaban tak lapakata hua maloom hota hai.’’[1]
