        bharatiy prachin, brahman-sanatan-hindoo dharm-snskriti aur pauranik grnthon par, jativadi varn vyavastha ke karan anek arop lagae jate hain. visheshakar manusmriti ko sabase adhik lanchhit kiya jata hai. svayn main bhi jati aur dharmik bhedabhav ko bahut napasnd karata hoon kintu kya yah poornat: sahi hai? 
main ek udaharan de raha hoon. is katha ko dhyan se poora padhen aur svayn nirnay len. yah katha uttar vaidikakalin hai. samanyat: yoon kaha jae ki upanishadon ke lekhan kal ki. pn. javaharalal neharoo ne isaka zikr apani pustak 'diskavari aauf indiya' men kiya hai.
tamralipti kathasarith (12.2.125) men ek katha ka ullekh hai.
        ek raja jisaka nam chndraprabha tha, pindadan karane nadi ke kinare pahuncha. pind ko hath men lekar vah nadi men pravahit karane ko hi tha ki nadi se tin hath pind lene ko nikale. (aisi manyata thi ki pind lene ke lie pita ka hath ata hai).
raja ashchary men pad gaya. brahman ne kaha:
rajan! in tin hathon men se ek hath kisi sooli par chadhae vyakti ka hai kyonki usaki kalaee par rassi se bandhane ka chihn bana hai, doosara hath kisi brahman ka hai kyonki usake hath men doob (ghas) hai aur tisara kisi raja ka hai kyonki usaka hath rajasi pratit hota hai sath hi usaki ungali men rajamudrika hai.”
raja ne kaha: “to thik hai phir to raja ka hath hi mere pita ka hath hoga”
brahman: “nahin rajan! yah uchit nahin hai." 
raja bina pindadan kie hi lautane laga to rah men ek vriddha mili.
vriddh stri- he rajan! tum tin hathon vali katha nahin sunoge. jo keval mujhe maloom hai.
brahman-  aurat! too kya janati hai? vah sab to brahmanon ka kam hai ki pata lagaen.
vriddh stri- pahale meri katha sun lo phir brahmanon ko nirnay karane do ki kya karana chahie.
vriddh stri ne kaha-
tamralipti ke samudr tat par base nagar men ek vaishy vyapari raha karata tha, jisaka nam tha dhanapal. vah dhanikon men bhi dhanik tha aur apane chhote-se parivar men bahut sukhi tha. usaki patni ka nam tha shilavati aur beti ka nam tha dhanavati, jo vivah yogy thi. ek din achanak tamralipti ke raja janasngh ne unake yahan rajakiy sevak bheja aur kahalaya ki dhanapal turnt rajakiy vastron ke vyapar ke lie samandar par chala jae. 
        us samay vaishy varn men kisan, charavahe, dastakar aur vanik yani vyapari bhi shamil the. vaishy hi mukhy karadata the, jinake karon, chungi aur upaharon ke adhar par hi brahman aur kshatriy apani gujar-basar karate the. vyapari kabhi-kabhi raja ki taraf se bhi vyapar kiya karate the, jaise ki hamari kahani ka vyapari dhanapal.
dhanavati ne kaha-
dhanavati: man ! pitaji ke lie bandaragah se doot aya hai, jaldi karane ke lie kaha hai. 
shilavati: shor mat karo, tumhare pitaji andar havan ke lie taiyari kar rahe hain. chalo ham bhi chalakar prarthana karate hain, jisase unaki yatra saphal ho jae.
prarthana karate hain:

indr hai
ao vinati hai nayak ban ao 
pathik luteron, janavaron ko hamare path se hatao
hamako dhan dilao, dhan dilao
dharati asaman ke bich bichhe pnthon par doodh aur ghi ki nadiyan bahao 
vanij ka labh dilao, labh dilao
hamen mool dhan par vipul labh ho, labh ho kar men, vikram men bhi labh ho
dhan kabhi nyoon nahin ho, pratiyogita bhi labhakar ho
he agne! ye havan siddh ho, hamare labh nashakon ka nash ho, nash ho vinash ho

        prarthana karake vyapari sudoor yatra par chala gaya. yah samudri yatra asaphal siddh huee aur rajy ka poora mal doob gaya. dusht raja ne us vyapari dhanapal ki samast snpatti ka adhigrahan karane aur putri ko apani seva ke lie balapoorvak bulane ke lie adesh diya. jisase ki rajy ke nuqasan ki bharapaee ho sake. shilavati ke padosi ko isaki bhanak lag gee, usane shilavati se kaha “yahan ka raja atynt dusht hai, vah meri koee bat nahin sunega, tum apani putri ko lekar yah rajy chhodakar chali jao. meri mrityu to avashynbhavi hai.” kisi tarah jan bachakar donon man-beti rajy chhod bhagin.
        vyapari ki patni aur usaki yuva putri rajy chhodakar bhagane lage. jab rajy ki simaon ke nikat pahunche to unhonne dekha ki jngal men ek yuvak ko mrityudnd dekar, sooli par latakaya gaya hai. vah yuvak antim sansen le raha tha. us yuvak ne pukar kar man-putri ko apane pas bulaya to shilavati ne poochha-
shilavati- are... bheeya, o bheeya..., tumhari aisi dasha kaise huee? 
vidrohi- mujhe deshadroh ke arop men is rajy ke nich raja ne yah dand diya hai. jabaki main sachchaee ke lie lad raha tha. mainne shoodr shramikon ke ek dal ka netritv kiya. vo log is bat ke lie lad rahe the ki unake sath pashuon jaisa vyavahar n kiya jae. is sooli par bhi meri atma mujhe mukti nahin de rahi hai. ab bhi mujhamen badala lene ki prabal ichchha hai. aisa lagata hai jaise bhagavan ne tumhen meri sahayata ke lie hi bheja hai. 
shilavati: ham? ham tumhari sahayata kaise kar sakate hain? ham to svayn raja ke lobh ke shikar hain. 
vidrohi: meri man! meri prarthana sun. apani avivahit kanya mujhe saunp de. 
shilavati: ye tum kya kah rahe ho. main apani kanya ko kaise saunp sakati hoon? ye tumhare kis kam ayegi?
vidrohi: mere marate samay koee putr nahin hai. bina putr ke main paralok nahin ja sakata. n hi mujh par lagae ge aropon ka badala liya ja sakata hai. ye ‘niyog' se ek sntan ko janm de sakati hai. isake garbh se jo sntan hogi, vo meri sntan kahalayegi. bas yahi vinati hai. jaisa main kahata hoon vaisa hi karo.
(‘niyog’ ek pratha thi jisamen stri, pati ke alava kisi doosare purush se sntan utpann kar sakati thi. is sntan ka pita pati hi mana jata tha.)
shilavati: main bade asamnjas men hoon. main kaise isake yauvan ko vaidhavy ke lie balidan kar doon. 
vidrohi: door us ped ko dekho. vahan jakar khudaee karo. vahan us patthar ke niche tumhen tin maniyan milengi. amooly maniyan. unamen se ek tumhare lie hai. doosari us adami ke lie hogi, jisase meri stri garbh dharan karegi, tisari usake lie jo mere putr ko yuddh kala sikhakar kshatriy ke roop men bada karega. tabhi is dharati ko us shapit raja se mukti mil sakegi. 
shilavati: lagata hai bhagavan ne mujhe sachamuch tumhari hi sahayata ke lie bheja hai. main svayn us nich, lobhi raja janasngh se badala lena chahati hoon. main tumhen vachan deti hoon, jaisa tumane kaha hai vaisa hi karoongi. main apani kunvari kanya ko tumhen saunpati hoon. 
vidrohi: ab main shanti se apane poorvajon ke pas ja sakata hoon.
phir shilavati aur dhanavati kisi tarah se vakralok pahunch geen. vakralok pahunch kar vasudatt namak ek brahman ke yahan rahane lagin. kee din bit ge. achanak shilavati ko us vachan ki yad aee jo usane apani putri ke pati ko diya tha, yani us vidrohi ko, jise sooli par chadha diya gaya tha. ab shilavati din-rat us die hue vachan ko poora karane ke bare men sochane lagi. vasudatt ne sujhaya ki vishnusvamin nam ke achary ke pas manasvamin namak ek brahman chhatr hai.
manasvamin taiyar ho gaya. putr bhi paida ho gaya lekin samay ke sath shilavati ki putri aur usake pati ka man bachche ke moh men phns gaya. shilavati apane vachan par dridh thi at: usane vasudatt se salah li.
vasudatt: thik hai, tum apana hriday kathor kar ek kary karo. sabhi janate hain hamare maharaj sooryaprabha ko putr ratn ki lalasa hai aur maharaj pratidin nagar ke poorvi ghat par snan karane jate hain. tum is balak ko vahan chhod do. maharaj ki drishti avashy balak par padegi. age prabhu ki ichchha.
raja sooryaprabha ko jab balak mila to raja ne kaha-
sooryaprabha: kitana sundar hai yah balak. dand, chhatr aur pataka jaise shubh chinhon ke sath isake sabhi lakshan isake chakravarti hone ki bhavishyavani karate hain. aisa lagata hai jaise bhagavan shiv ne svayn hi mujhe yogy putr de diya hai.
yah katha sunane ke bad raja sooryaprabha ke uttaradhikari raja chndraprabha ne us vriddha se poochha- 
raja chndraprabha: tum ye sab kaise janati ho? kaun ho tum?
vriddh stri: beta! main tumhari nani shilavati hoon aur ye jo tumane mani pahani hai, vah sooli par chadhane vale, tumhare pita ne hi tumako di thi.
raja chndraprabha: vo vidrohi, vah mera pita kaise ho sakata hai? mujhe janm dene vala to vah brahman tha aur maharaj sooryaprabha ne bade lad-pyar se mera palan-poshan kiya. mujhe shikshit kiya. phir main us vidrohi ko kaise apana pita man sakata hoon?
vriddh stri- aisa mat kaho beta. vahi tumhare pita hain, kyonki unhonne tumhen jine ka ek uddeshy diya hai. unaki ichchha poori karo. tamralipti ke dusht raja janasngh ka nash, yahi tumhare jivan ka param lakshy hona chahie. isalie tumako pind us vidrohi ke hath men hi rakhana chahie.
aie ab bharatakosh par chalate hain-
        is katha men uttar vaidik kal ki manyataon ki jhalak milati hai. ek stri ke dvara vachan nibahane ki parakashtha aur ek shoodron ke vidrohi neta, jisaki jati ka pata nahin, ek vaishy stri se vivah karata hai. us stri ko ek brahman se beta hota hai, jise ek kshatriy raja god leta hai. isase jati ke utar-chadhav ka pata chalata hai. chndraprabha ke pita ke roop men vidrohi ke adhikar ko hi manyata di jati hai, n ki brahman ya kshatriy ke adhikar ko. vyakti ke adhikar ke sndarbh men jati ko koee mahattv nahin diya jata. 
main matr itana kahana chahata hoon ki hindoo dharm hi nahin apitu kisi bhi dharm athava snskriti ki alochana se pahale, hamara gaharaee se adhyayan karana ati avashyak hai. main n to andhavishvas ki bat kar raha hoon aur n hi yah kah raha hoon ki dharm ko vigyan ki kasauti par n parakha jay varanh mera ashay matr itana hai ki kisi pauranik vyavastha ka vivechan desh-kal-paristhiti ko drishtigat rakhakar hona chahie.
