bhagavan shnkar ki kripa se ghushma ko ek sundar bhagyashali tatha sadgun sampann putr prapt hua. putr prapti se jab ghushma ka kuchh man badh gaya, tab sudeha ko eershya paida ho gee. samay ke sath jab putr bada ho gaya, to vivah kar diya gaya aur putravadhoo bhi ghar men a gee. yah sab dekhakar sudeha aur adhik jalane lagi. usaki buddhi bhrasht ho gee, jisake karan usane anisht karane ki than li. ek din ratri men usane sote samay ghushma ke putr ke sharir ko chakoo se tukade-tukade kar diya aur shav ko sametakar vahin pas ke sarovar men dal diya, jahan ghushma pratidin parthiv ling ka visarjan karati thi. sudeha shav ko talab men phenkakar a gee aur aram se ghar men so gee.
