mritynjay-mntr ka jap

vahan chandradev ne mrityunjay bhagavan ki archana-vandana aur anushthan prarambh kiya. ve mrityunjay-mntr ka jap tatha bhagavan shiv ki upasana men tallin ho gaye. brahma ki hi agya ke anusar chandrama ne chhah mahine tak nirantar tapasya ki aur vrishabh dhvaj ka poojan kiya. das karod mritynjay-mntr ka jap tatha dhyan karate hue chandrama sthirachitt se vahan nirantar khade rahe. unaki utkat tapasya se bhaktavatsal bhagavan shnkar prasann ho gaye. unhonne chandrama se kaha- 'chandradev! tumhara kalyan ho. tum jisake lie yah kathor tap kar rahe ho, us apani abhilasha ko batao. mai tumhari ichchha ke anusar tumhen uttam var pradan karoonga.’ chandrama ne prarthana karate hue vinayapoorvak kaha- ‘deveshvar! ap mere sab aparadhon ko kshama karen aur mere sharir ke is kshayarog ko door kar den.’

shiv ka varadan

bhagavan shiv ne kaha– 'chandradev! tumhari kal pratidin ek paksh men kshin hua karegi, jabaki doosare paksh men pratidin vah nirantar badhati rahegi. is prakar tum svasth aur lok-samman ke yogy hi jaoge. bhagavan shiv ka kripa-prasad prapt kar chandradev bahut prasann hue. unhonne bhaktibhavapoorvak shnkar ki stuti ki. aisi sthiti men nirakar shiv unaki dridh bhakti ko dekhakar sakar ling roop men prakat ho gaye tatha prabhas kshetr ke mahattv ko badhane hetu devataon ke samman tatha chandrama ke yash ka vistar karane ke lie svayn ‘someshvar’ kahalane lage. chandrama ke nam par somanath bane bhagavan shiv snsar men ‘somanath’ ke nam se prasiddh hue.

bharatiy svatantrata-prapti ke bad rashtr ke pratham rashtrapati da. rajendr prasad ne desh ke svabhiman ko jagrat karate hue punah somanath mandir ka bhavy nirman karaya. aj punah bharatiy-snskriti aur sanatan-dharm ki dhvaja ke roop men someshvar jyotirling ‘somanath mandir’ ke roop men shobhayaman hai. somanath ka mool mandir jo bar-bar nasht kiya gaya tha, vah aj bhi apane moolasthan samudr ke kinare hi hai. svadhin bharat ke pratham grihamantri saradar vallabhabhaee patel ne yahan bhavyamandir ka nirman karaya tha. somanath ke mool mandir se kuchh hi doori par ahalyabaee dvara banavaya gaya somanath ka mandir hai.

kaise pahunchen

somanath ka mandir jis sthan par sthit hai, use veraval, somanathapatan, prabhas aur prabhasapatan adi namon se jana jata hai. saurashtr ke pashchimi relave steshan ki rajakot-verival tatha khijadiya veraval lainen hain. in donon or se veraval pahuncha jata hai. veraval relave steshan se prabhasapatan panch kilomitar ki doori par hai. steshan se bas, taiksi adi ke dvara prabhasapatan pahuncha ja sakata hai.

'samudraka' agnikund

somanath men dharmayatriyon ke lie anek pavitr aur darshaniy sthan vidyaman hain. prabhasapatan nagar ke bahar hi ek ‘samudraka’ namak agnikund hai. sarvapratham yatrigan isi kund men snan karate hain, usake bad ve prachi triveni men snan karane ke lie jate hain.
