yogamaya dvara di gee chetavani aur unaki baton ko sunakar kns ko ati ashchary hua aur usane devaki tatha vasudev ko karagar se mukt kar diya. tatpashchath kns ne apane mantriyon ko bulaya tatha yogamaya dvara kahi gayi baton par mantrana karane laga. kns ke moorkh mantriyon ne kaha- “he rajanh! devataon ne yah dhokha diya hai isaliye devataon ka hi nash karana chahiye. brahmanon ke ygyadi ko band karava dena chahiye. indr ko to ap kee bar parast kar hi chuke hain, is bar apake dar se chhipe huye vishnu ko bhi dhoondh kar usase yuddh karana chahiye aur pichhale das dinon ke bhitar utpann huye sabhi balakon ko bhi mar dalana chahiye.”

idhar gokul men nandababa ne putr ka janmotsav bade dhoom-dham se manaya. brahmanon aur yachakon ko yathochit gauon tatha svarn, ratn, dhanadi ka dan kiya. karmakandi brahmanon ko bulakar balak ka jati karm snskar karavaya. pitaron aur devataon ki anek bhanti se pooja-archana ki. poore gokul men utsav manaya gaya. kuchh dinon pashchath kns dhoondh-dhoondh kar navajat shishuon ka vadh karavane laga. usane pootana nam ki ek kroor rakshasi ko braj men bheja. pootana ne rakshasi vesh taj kar ati manohar nari ka roop dharan kiya aur akash marg se gokul pahunch gee. gokul men pahunch kar vah sidhe nandababa ke mahal men gee aur shishu ke roop men sote huye shrikrishn ko god men uthakar apana doodh pilane lagi. usaki manoharata aur sundarata ne yashoda aur rohini ko bhi mohit kar liya, isaliye unhonne balak ko uthane aur doodh pilane se nahin roka.

pootana ke stanon men halahal vish laga hua tha. antaryami shrikrishn sab jan gaye aur ve krodh karake apane donon hathon se usaka kuch tham kar usake pran sahit dugdhapan karane lage. unake dugdhapan se pootana ke marm sthalon men ati pida hone lagi aur usake pran nikalane lage. vah chikh-chikh kar kahane lagi- “are chhod de! chhod de! bas kar! bas kar!” vah bar-bar apane hath pair patakane lagi aur usaki ankhen phat geen. usaka sara sharir pasine men lathapath hokar vyakul ho gaya. vah bade bhaynkar svar men chillane lagi. usaki bhaynkar garjana se prithvi, akash tatha antariksh goonj uthe. bahut se log bajrapat samajh kar prithvi par gir pade. pootana apane rakshasi svaroop ko prakat kar dhadam se bhoomi par bajr ke saman giri, usaka sir phat gaya aur usake pran nikal gaye. jab yashoda, rohini aur gopiyon ne usake girane ki bhaynkar avaj ko suna, tab ve daudi-daudi usake pas geen. unhonne dekha ki balak krishn pootana ki chhati par leta hua stanapan kar raha hai tatha ek bhaynkar rakshasi mari huee padi hai. unhonne balak ko tatkal utha liya aur puchakar kar chhati se laga liya. ve kahane lagin- “bhagavan chakradhar ne teri raksha ki. bhagavan gadadhar teri age bhi raksha karen.” isake pashchath gop gvalon ne pootana ke angon ko kat-kat kar gokul se bahar la kar lakadiyon men rakh kar jala diya.

harivnsh ke anusar pootana kns ki dhatri (daee man) thi aur 'shakuni' chidiya ka roop banakar gokul gee thi. brahmavaivart puran ke anusar vah kns ki bahan thi or mathura se brahmani banakar krishn ko dekhane ke bahane gee. is puran men aya hai ki vah pahale bali ki putri ratnamala thi aur vaman ke prati matribhavana se prerit thi. isilie vaman ke roop krishn ne stan-pan karate samay usake pran khinch liye. brajabhasha tatha gujarati ke kuchh kaviyon ne pootana ko 'baki' likha hai. sooradas tatha gujarati kavi narasi mehata, paramannd das adi ne any kee chhoti kathaon ka pootana vadh ke bad ullekh kiya hai, jo puranon men nahin milatin.

'shrimadbhagavat mahapuran'[1] ke anusar- shrishukadevaji kahate hain- "parikshit ! nandababa jab mathura se chale, tab raste men vichar karane lage ki vasudevaji ka kathan jhootha nahin ho sakata. isase unake man men utpat hone ki ashnka ho gayi. tab unhonne man-hi-man ‘bhagavan ki sharan hai, ve hi raksha karenge’ aisa nishchay kiya.

pootana nam ki ek badi kroor rakshasi thi. usaka ek hi kam tha- bachchon ko marana. kns ki agya se vah nagar, gram aur ahiron ki bastiyon men bachchon ko marane ke lie ghooma karati thi. jahan ke log apane pratidin ke kamon men rakshason ke bhay ko door bhagane vale bhaktavatsal bhagavan ke nam, gun aur lilaon ka shravan, kirtan aur smaran nahin karate, vahin aisi rakshasiyon ka bal chalata hai.

pootana bal krishn ko doodh pilate hue

shrishukadevaji kahate hain- "parikshit! is prakar gopiyon ne premapash men bndhakar bhagavan shrikrishn ki raksha ki. mata yashoda ne apane putr ko stan pilaya aur phir palane par sula diya. isi samay nandababa aur unake sathi gop mathura se gokul men pahunche. jab unhonne pootana ka bhaynkar sharir dekha, tab ve ashcharyachakit ho gaye. ve kahane lage- "yah to bade ashchary ki bat hai, avashy hi vasudev ke roop men kisi rishi ne janm grahan kiya hai athava sambhav hai vasudevaji poorvajanm men koee yogeshvar rahe hon; kyonki unhonne jaisa kaha tha, vaisa hi utpat yahan dekhane men a raha hai. tab tak brajavasiyon ne kulhadi se pootana ke sharir ko tukaden-tukade kar dala aur gokul se door le jakar lakadiyon par rakhakar jala diya. jab usaka sharir jalane laga, tab usamen se aisa dhuna nikala, jisamen se agaraki-si sugandh a rahi thi. kyon n ho, bhagavan ne jo usaka doodh pi liya tha, jisase usake sare pap tatkal hi nasht ho gaye the. pootana ek rakshasi thi. logon ke bachchon ko mar dalana aur unaka khoon pi jana, yahi usaka kam tha. bhagavan ko bhi usane mar dalane ki ichchha se hi stan pilaya tha. phir bhi use vah param gati mili, jo satpurushon ko milati hai.

aisi sthiti men jo parabrahma paramatma bhagavan shrikrishn ko shraddha aur bhakti se mata ke saman anurag poorvak apani priy-se-priy vastu aur unako priy lagane vali vastu samarpit karate hain. unake sambandh men to kahana hi kya. bhagavan ke charanakamal sabake vandaniy brahma, shnkar adi devataon ke dvara bhi vandit hain. ve bhakton ke hriday ki poonji hain. unhin charanon se bhagavan ne pootana ka sharir dabakar usaka stanapan kiya tha. mana ki vah rakshasi thi, parntu use uttam-se-uttam gati jo mata ko milani chahie, prapt huee. phir jinake stan ka doodh bhagavan ne bade prem se piya, un gauon aur mataon[8] ki bat hi kya hai.

parikshit! devakinandan bhagavan kaivaly adi sab prakar ki mukti aur sab kuchh dene vale hain. unhonne braj ki gopiyon aur gauon ka vah doodh, jo bhagavan ke prati putr-bhav hone se vatsaly-sneh ki adhikata ke karan svayn hi jharata rahata tha, bharapet pan kiya. rajan! ve gauen aur gopiyan, jo nity-nirantar bhagavan shrikrishn ko apane putr ke hi roop men dekhatin thin, phir janm-mrityuroop snsar ke chakr men kabhi nahin pad sakatin, kyonki yah snsar to agyan ke karan hi hai.

nandababa ke sath ane vale brajavasiyon ki nak men jab chita ke dhuen ki sugandh pahunchi, tab ‘yah kya hai? kahan se aisi sugandh a rahi hai?’ is prakar kahate hue ve braj men pahunche. vahan gopon ne unhen pootana ke ane se lekar, marane tak ka sara vrittant kah sunaya. ve log pootana ki mrityu aur shrikrishn ke kushalapoorvak bach jane ki bat sunakar bade hi ashcharyachakit hue. parikshit! udarashiromani nandababa ne mrityu ke mukh se bache hue apane lala ko god men utha liya aur bar-bar usaka sar soonghakar man-hi-man bahut anandit hue.

  2. pootana ko dekhakar bhagavan shrikrishn ne apane netr bnd kar liye, is par bhakt kaviyon aur tikakaron ne anekon prakar ki utprekshaen ki hain, jinamen kuchh ye hain- 1. shrimadvallbhachary ne subodhini men kaha hai- "avidya hi pootana hai. bhagavan shrikrishn ne socha ki meri drishti ke samane avidya tik nahin sakati, phir lila kaise hogi, isaliye netr band kar liye. 2. yah pootana bal-ghatini hai- ‘pootanapi nayati’. yah pavitr balakon ko bhi le jati hai. aisa jaghany krity karane vali ka munh nahin dekhana chahiye, isaliye netr bnd kar liye. 3. is janm men to isane kuchh sadhan kiya nahin hai. snbhav hai mujhase milane ke liye poorv janm men kuchh kiya ho. mano pootana ke poorv-poorv janmon ke sadhan dekhane ke liye hi shrikrishn ne netr bnd kar liye. 4. bhagavan ne apane man men vichar kiya ki mainne papini ka doodh kabhi nahin piya hai. ab jaise log ankh bnd karake chirayate ka kadha pi jate hain, vaise hi isaka doodh bhi pi jaoon. isaliye netr bnd kar liye. 5. bhagavan ke udar men nivas karane vale asnkhy koti brahmand ke jiv yah janakar ghabara gaye ki shyamasundar pootana ke stan men laga halahal vish pine ja rahe hain. atah unhen samajhane ke liye hi shrikrishn ne netr bnd kar liye. 6. shrikrishn shishu ne vichar kiya ki main gokul men yah sochakar aya tha ki makhan-mishri khaoonga. so chhathi ke din hi vish pine ka avasar a gaya. isaliye ankh bnd karake mano shnkaraji ka dhyan kiya ki ap akar apana abhyast vish-pan kijiye, main doodh pioonga. 7. shrikrishn ke netron ne vichar kiya ki param svatantr eeshvar is dushta ko achchhi-buri chahe jo gati de den, parantu ham donon ise chandr marg athava soory marg donon men se ek bhi nahin denge. isaliye unhonne apane dvar bnd kar liye. 8. netron ne socha pootana ke netr hain to hamari jati ke; vraj-balak sabhi shrikrishn ke sakha hain, param bhakt hain, pootana unako marane ka snkalp karake ayi hai, isaliye unhonne netr bnd kar liye. 18. pootana apani bhishan akriti ko chhipakar rakshasi maya se divy ramani roop banakar ayi hai. bhagavan ki drishti padane par maya rahegi nahin aur isaka asali bhayanak roop prakat ho jayaga. use samane dekhakar yashoda maiya dar jayn aur putr ki anishtashnka se kahin unake hathath pran nikal jayn, is ashnka se unhonne netr bnd kar liye. 19. pootana hinsa poorn hriday se ayi hai, parantu bhagavan usaki hinsa ke liye upayukt dand n dekar usaka pran-vadhamatr karake param kalyan karana chahate hain. bhagavan samast sadgunon ke bhandar hain. unamen dhrishtata adi doshon ka lesh bhi nahin hai, isiliye pootana ke kalyanarth bhi usaka pran-vadh karane men unhen lajja ati hai. is lajja se hi unhonne netr bnd kar liye. 20. bhagavan jagatpita hain, asur-rakshasadi bhi unaki santan hi hain. par ve sarvatha uchchhrnkhal aur udand ho gaye hain, isaliye unhen dand dena avashyak hai. snehamay mata-pita jab apane uchchhrnkhal putr ko dand dete hain, tab unake men duahkh hota hai. parantu ve use bhay dikhalane ke liye use bahar prakat nahin karate. isi prakar bhagavan bhi jab asuron ko marate hain, tab pita ke nate unako bhi duahkh hota hai; par doosare asuron ko bhay dikhalane ke liye ve use prakat nahin karate. bhagavan ab pootana ko marane vale hain, parantu usaki mrityukalin pida ko apani ankhon dekhana nahin chahate, isi se unhonne netr bnd kar liye. 21. chhote balakon ka svabhav hai ki ve apani man ke samane khoob khelate hain, par kisi aparichit ko dekhakar dar jate hain aur netr moond lete hain. aparichit pootana ko dekhakar isiliye bal-lila-vihari bhagavan ne netr bnd kar liye. yah unaki bal lila ka madhury hai.
  3. ve usaka doodh pine lage aur unaka sathi krodh pran pine laga. bhagavan rosh ke sath pootana ke pranon ke sahit stan-pan karane lage, isaka yah arth pratit hota hai ki rosh (roshadhishthatri-devata roodr) ne pranon ka pan kiya aur shrikrishn ne stan ka.
  4. pootana ke vakshahsthal par krida karate hue mano man-hi-man kah rah the- ‘main dudhamunhan shishu hoon, stan pan hi meri jivika hai. tumane svayn apana stan mere munh men de diya aur mainne piya. isase yadi tum mar jati ho to svayn tumhin batao isamen mera kya aparadh hai.’ raja bali ki kanya thi ratnamala. ygyshala men vaman bhagavan ko dekhakar usake hriday men putr sneh ka bhav uday ho aya. vah man-hi-man abhilasha karane lagi ki yadi mujhe aisa balak ho aur main use stan pilaoon to mujhe badi prasannata hogi. vaman bhagavan ne apane bhakt bali ki putri ke is manorath ka man-hi-man anumodan kiya. vahi dvapar men pootana huee aur shrikrishn ke sparsh se usaki lalasa poorn huee.
