  • bhavishyottar puran [27] men krishn dvara 'krishnajanmashtami vrat' ke bare men yudhishthir se svayn kahalaya gaya hai–'main vasudev evn devaki se bhadr krishn ashtami ko utpann hua tha, jabaki soory sinh rashi men tha, chandr vrishabh rashi men tha aur nakshatr rohini tha'[28]. jab shravan ke krishn paksh ki ashtami ko rohini nakshatr hota hai to vah tithi jayanti kahalati hai, us din upavas karane se sabhi pap jo bachapan, yuvavastha, vriddhavastha evn bahut se poorvajanmon men hue rahate hain, kat jate hain. isaka phal yah hai ki yadi shravan krishnapaksh ki ashtami ko rohini ho to n yah keval janmashtami hoti hai, kintu jab shravan ki krishnashtami se rohini snyukt ho jati hai to jayanti hoti hai.

janmashtami vrat

'janmashtami vrat' evn 'jayanti vrat' ek hi hain ya ye do prithakh vrat hain. kalanirnay [29] ne donon ko prithakh vrat mana hai, kyonki do prithakh nam aye hain, donon ke nimitt (avasar) prithakh hain (pratham to krishnapaksh ki ashtami hai aur doosari rohini se snyukt krishnapaksh ki ashtami), donon ki hi visheshataen prithakh hain, kyonki janmashtami vrat men shastr men upavas ki vyavastha di hai aur jayanti vrat men upavas, dan adi ki vyavastha hai. isake atirikt janmashtami vrat nity hai (kyonki isake n karane se keval pap lagane ki bat kahi gayi hai) aur jayanti vrat nity evn kamy donon hi hai, kyonki usamen isake n karane se n keval pap ki vyavastha hai pratyut karane se phal ki prapti ki bat bhi kahi gayi hai. ek hi shlok men donon ke prithakh ullekh bhi hain. hemadri, madanaratn, nirnayasindhu adi ne donon ko bhinn mana hai. nirnayasindhu [30] ne yah bhi kaha hai ki is kal men log janmashtami vrat karate hain n ki jayanti vrat. kintu jayantinirnay [31] ka kathan hai ki log jayanti manate hain n ki janmashtami. sambhavat: yah bhed uttar evn dakshin bharat ka hai.
varah puran evn harivnsh men do virodhi baten hain. pratham ke anusar krishn ka janm ashadh shukl paksh dvadashi ko hua tha. harivnsh ke anusar krishn janm ke samay abhijit nakshatr tha aur vijay muhoort tha. sambhavat: in uktiyon men prachin paramparaon ki chhap hai. madhyakalik nibandhon men janmashtami vrat ke sampadan ki tithi evn kal ke vishay men bhi kuchh vivechan milata hai [32]; krityatattv [33]; tithitatv,[34]. samayamayookh [35] evn nirnay sindhu [36] men is vishay men nishkarsh diye gaye hain.

bnsi bajate hue krishn

janmashtami manane ka samay nirdharan

sabhi puranon evn janmashtami sambandhi granthon se spasht hota hai ki krishnajanm ke sampadan ka pramukh samay hai 'shravan krishn paksh ki ashtami ki ardharatri' (yadi poornimant hota hai to bhadrapad mas men kiya jata hai). yah tithi do prakar ki hai–

  1. bina rohini nakshatr ki tatha
  2. rohini nakshatr vali.
  • nirnayamrit [37] men 18 prakar hain, jinamen 8 shuddha tithiyan, 8 viddha tatha any 2 hain (jinamen ek ardharatri men rohini nakshatr vali tatha doosari rohini se yukt navami, budh ya mngal ko). *tithitattv [38] se snkshipt nirnay is prakar hain– 'yadi 'jayanti' (rohiniyukt ashtami) ek din vali hai, to usi din upavas karana chahie, yadi jayanti n ho to rohini yukt ashtami ko hona chahie, yadi rohini se yukt do din hon to upavas doosare din hi kiya jata hai, yadi rohini nakshatr n ho to upavas ardharatri men avasthit ashtami ko hona chahie ya yadi ashtami ardharatri men do din vali ho ya yadi vah ardharatri men n ho to upavas doosare din kiya jana chahie. yadi jayanti budh ya mngal ko ho to upavas mahapunyakari hota hai aur karodon vraton se shreshth mana jata hai jo vyakti budh ya mngal se yukt jayanti par upavas karata hai, vah janm-maran se sada ke lie chhutakara pa leta hai.'

vrat ke din prat: vrati ko soory, som (chandr), yam, kal, donon sandhyaon (prat: evn sayn), panch bhooton, din, kshapa (ratri), pavan, dikpalon, bhoomi, akash, khacharon (vayu dishaon ke nivasiyon) evn devon ka ahvan karana chahie, jisase ve upasthit hon.[45] use apane hath men jalapoorn tamr patr rakhana chahie, jisamen kuchh phal, pushp, akshat hon aur mas adi ka nam lena chahie aur snkalp karana chahie– 'main krishnajanmashtami vrat kuchh vishisht phal adi tatha apane papon se chhutakara pane ke lie karoonga.' tab vah vasudev ko sambodhit kar char mntron ka path karata hai, jisake uparant vah patr men jal dalata hai. use devaki ke putrajanan ke lie prasooti-grih ka nirman karana chahie, jisamen jal se poorn shubh patr, amradal, pushpamalaen adi rakhana chahie, agaru jalana chahie aur shubh vastuon se alnkaran karana chahie tatha shashthi devi ko rakhana chahie. grih ya usaki divaron ke chaturdik devon evn gandharvon ke chitr banavane chahie (jinake hath jude hue hon), vasudev (hath men talavar se yukt), devaki, nand, yashoda, gopiyon, kns-rakshakon, yamuna nadi, kaliya nag tatha gokul ki ghatanaon se sambandhit chitr adi banavane chahie. prasooti grih men paradon se yukt bistar taiyar karana chahie.

snkalp aur pranapratishtha

vrati ko kisi nadi (ya talab ya kahin bhi) men til ke sath dopahar men snan karake yah snkalp karana chahie– 'main krishn ki pooja unake sahagamiyon ke sath karoonga.' use sone ya chandi adi ki krishn pratima banavani chahie, pratima ke galon ka sparsh karana chahie aur mntron ke sath usaki pran pratishtha karani chahie. use mntr ke sath devaki v unake shishu shri krishn ka dhyan karana chahie tatha vasudev, devaki, nand, yashoda, baladev evn chandika ki pooja snan, dhoop, gndh, naivedy adi ke sath evn mntron ke sath karani chahie. tab use pratikatmak dhnk se jatakarm, nabhi chhedan, shashthipooja evn namakaran snskar adi karane chahie. tab chandroday (ya ardharatri ke thodi der uparant) ke samay kisi vedika par ardhy dena chahie, yah ardhy rohini yukt chandr ko bhi diya ja sakata hai, ardhy men shnkh se jal arpan hota hai, jisamen pushp, kush, chandan lep dale hue rahate hain. yah sab ek mntr ke sath men hota hai. isake uparant vrati ko chandr ka naman karana chahie aur dandavat jhuk jana chahie tatha vasudev ke vibhinn namon vale shlokon ka path karana chahie aur ant men prarthanaen karani chahie.[46]

ratri jagaran aur prat: poojan

vrati ko ratri bhar krishn ki prashnsa ke sroton, pauranik kathaon, ganon evn nrityon men snlagn rahana chahie. doosare din prat: kal ke krityon ke sampadan ke uparant, krishn pratima ka poojan karana chahie, brahmanon ko bhojan dena chahie, sona, gau, vastron ka dan, 'mujh par krishn prasann hon' shabdon ke sath karana chahie. use

  • madhyakalik nibandhon men janmashtami vrat ke pramukh uddeshy ke vishay men charcha uthayi gayi hai. kuchh logon ke mat se upavas evn pooja donon hi pramukh hain [49].
  • samayamayookh ne vyakhya ke uparant nishkarsh nikala hai ki upavas keval 'ang' hai, kintu pooja hi pramukh hai. kintu tithitattv ne bhavishy puran evn mimansa siddhanton ke adhar par kaha hai ki upavas hi pramukh hai aur pooja keval 'ang' arthath keval sahayak tattv hai.[50]

paran

pratyek vrat ke ant men paran hota hai, jo vrat ke doosare din prat: kiya jata hai. janmashtami evn jayanti ke upalakshy men kiye gaye upavas ke uparant paran ke vishay men kuchh vishisht niyam hain. brahmavaivart puran, kalanirnay[51] men aya hai ki–'jab tak ashtami chalati rahe ya us par rohini nakshatr rahe tab tak paran nahin karana chahie; jo aisa nahin karata, arthath jo aisi sthiti men paran kar leta hai vah apane kiye karaye par hi pani pher leta hai aur upavas se prapt phal ko nasht kar leta hai. at: tithi tatha nakshatr ke ant men hi paran karana chahie.[52]

udyapan evn paran men antar

paran ke uparant vrati 'on bhootay bhooteshvaray bhootapataye bhootasambhavay govinday namo nam:' namak mntr ka path karata hai. kuchh paristhitiyon men paran ratri men bhi hota hai, visheshat: vaishnavon men, jo vrat ko nity roop men karate hain n ki kamy roop men.   • vishesh roop se yah mahotsav vrindavan, mathura (uttar pradesh), dvaraka (gujarat), guruvayoor (keral), udripi (karnatak) tatha iskaaun ke mandiron men hote hain.
  • shrikrishn janmashtami ka utsav sampoorn brajamandal men, ghar–ghar men, mandir–mandir men manaya jata hai. adhikatar log vrat rakhate hain aur rat ko barah baje hi 'pnchamrit ya phalahar' grahan karate hain.
  • mathura ke janmasthan men vishesh ayojan hota hai. savari nikali jati hai. doosare din nandotsav mandiron men dadhikandon hota hai.
  • phal, mishthan, vastr, bartan, khilaune aur rupaye lutae jate hain. jinhen prayah sabhi shraddhalu lootakar dhany hote hain.
  • gokul, nandaganv, vrindavan adi men shrikrishn janmashtami ki badi dhoom–dham hoti hai.

shrikrishn ke vigrah ki bhavy sajja

pooja kaksh men jahan shrikrishn ka vigrah virajaman hota hai, vahan par akarshak rngon ki rngoli chitrit ki jati hai. is rngoli ko 'dhan ke bhoose' se banaya jata hai. ghar ki chaukhat se poojakaksh tak chhote–chhote panvon ke chitr isi samagri se banae jate hain. ye pratikatmak chihn bhagavan shrikrishn ke ane ka snket dete hain. mitti ke dip jalakar unhen ghar ke samane rakha jata hai. bal shrikrishn ko ek jhoole men bhi rakha jata hai. pooja ka samagr sthan pushpon se sajaya jata hai.

madhyaratri ko pooja–anushthan

janmashtami ke avasar par mandiron ko ati sundar dhng se sajaya jata hai tatha madhyaratri ko prarthana ki jati hai. shrikrishn ki moorti banakar use ek palane men rakha jata hai tatha use dhire–dhire se hilaya jata hai. log sari rat bhajan gate hain tatha arati ki jati hai. arati tatha balakrishn ko bhojan arpit karane ke bad sampoorn din ke upavas ka samapan kiya jata hai.

brajabhoomi men janmashtami mahotsav

  • brajabhoomi mahotsav anootha v ashcharyajanak hota hai.
  • sabase pavitratam sthan to mathura ko hi mana jata hai, aur mathura men bhi ek sundar mandir ko jisamen aisa vishvas hai ki yahi vah sthan hai, jahan par shrikrishn ka janm hua tha.
  • aisa anuman hai ki sat lakh logon se bhi adhik shraddhalu mathura v as–pas ke ilaqon se is sthan par pooja–archana ke lie ate hain.
