agni puran gyan ka vishal bhandar hai. svayn agnidev ne ise maharshi vasishth ko sunate hue kaha tha-

agneye hi puraneasminh sarva vidya: pradarshita:[1]

arthath 'agni puran' men sabhi vidyaon ka varnan hai. akar men laghu hote hue bhi vidyaon ke prakashan ki drishti se yah puran apana vishisht mahattv rakhata hai. is puran men tin sau tirasi (383) adhyay hain. 'gita' , 'ramayan', 'mahabharat', 'harivnsh puran' adi ka parichay is puran men hai. para-apara vidyaon ka varnan bhi isamen prapt hota hai. matsy, koorm adi avataron ki kathaen bhi isamen di gee hain. srishti-varnan, sandhya, snan, pooja vidhi, hom vidhi, mudraon ke lakshan, diksha aur abhishek vidhi, nirvan-diksha ke snskar, devalay nirman kala, shilanyas vidhi, dev pratimaon ke lakshan, ling lakshan tatha vigrah pran-pratishtha ki vidhi, vastu pooja vidhi, tattv diksha, khagol shastr, tirth mahatmy, shraddh kalp, jyotish shastr, sngram vijay, vashikaran vidya, aushadhi gyan, varnashram dharm, mas vrat, dan mahatmy rajadharm, vividh svapn varnan, shakun-apashakun, ratn pariksha, dhanurved shiksha, vyavahar kushalata, utpat shanti vidhi, ashv chikitsa, siddhi mantr, vividh kavy lakshan, vyakaran aur ras-alnkar adi ke lakshan, yog, brahmgyan, svarg-narak varnan, arth shastr, nyay, mimansa, soory vnsh tatha som vnsh adi ka varnan is puran men kiya gaya hai.

  • vaishnavon ki pooja-paddhati aur pratima adi ke lakshanon ka sangopang varnan is puran men varnit hai. shiv aur shakti ki pooja ka poora vidhan isamen bataya gaya hai. vedant ke sabhi vishayon ko uttam riti se isamen samajha gaya hai. isake alava jivan ke lie upayogi sabhi vidhaon ki janakari is puran men mil jati hai.
  • agnidev ke mukh se kahe jane ke karan hi is puran ka nam 'agni puran' pada hai. yah ek prachin puran hai. isamen shiv, vishnu aur soory ki upasana ka varnan nishpaksh bhav se kiya gaya hai. yahi isaki prachinata ko darshata hai. kyonki bad men shaiv aur vaishnav matavalambiyon men kafi virodh utpann ho gaya tha, jisake karan unaki pooja-archana men unaka varchasv bahut-chadhakar dikhaya jane laga tha. ek-doosare ke maton ki ninda ki jane lagi thi jabaki 'agni puran' men is prakar ki koee ninda upalabdh nahin hoti.
  • tirthon ke varnan men shnkarachary dvara sthapit charon mathon- badrinath, jagannath, dvarakapuri aur rameshvaram ka ullekh isamen nahin hai. isake alava kashi ke varnan men vishvanath tatha dashashvamegh ghat ka varnan bhi isamen nahin hain yahi bat isaki prachinata ko darshati hai.

vishay-samagri

vishay-samagri ki drishti se 'agni puran' ko bharatiy jivan ka vishvakosh kaha ja sakata hai puranon ke panchon lakshanon- sarg, pratisarg, rajavnsh, manvantar aur vnshanucharit adi ka varnan bhi is puran men prapt hota hai. kintu ise yahan snkshep roop men diya gaya hai. is puran ka shesh kalevar dainik jivan ki upayogi shikshaon se otaprot hai.

  • 'agni puran' men sharir aur atma ke svaroop ko alag-alag samajhaya gaya hai. indriyon ko yntr matr mana gaya hai aur deh ke angon ko 'atma' nahin mana gaya hai. puranakar' atma' ko hriday men sthit manata hai. brahm se akash, akash se vayu, vayu se agni, agni se jal aur jal se prithvi hoti hai. isake bad sookshm sharir aur phir sthool sharir hota hai.
  • 'agni puran' gyan marg ko hi saty svikar karata hai. usaka kahana hai ki gyan se hi 'brahm ki prapti sambhav hai, karmakand se nahin. brahm ki param jyoti hai jo man, buddhi, chitt aur ahnkar se bhinn hai. jara, maran, shok, moh, bhookh-pyas tatha svapn-sushupti adi se rahit hai.
  • is puran men 'bhagavan' ka prayog vishnu ke lie kiya gaya hai. kyonki usamen 'bh' se bhartta ke gun vidyaman hain aur 'g' se gaman arthath pragati athava srijanakartta ka bodh hota hai. vishnu ko srishti ka palanakartta aur shrivriddhi ka devata mana gaya hai. 'bhag' ka poora arth aishvary, shri, viry, shakti, gyan, vairagy aur yash hota hai jo ki vishnu men nihit hai. 'van' ka prayog pratyay ke roop men hua hai, jisaka arth dharan karane vala athava chalane vala hota hai. arthath jo srijanakarta palan karata ho, shrivriddhi karane vala ho, yash aur aishvary dene vala ho; vah 'bhagavan' hai. vishnu men ye sabhi gun vidyaman hain.
  • 'agni puran' ne man ki gati ko brahm men lin hona hi 'yog' mana hai. jivan ka antim lakshy atma aur paramatma ka snyog hi hona chahie. isi prakar varnashram dharm ki vyakhya bhi is puran men bahut achchhi tarah ki gee hai. brahmachari ko hinsa aur ninda se door rahana chahie. grihasthashram ke sahare hi any tin ashram apana jivan-nirvah karate hain. isalie grihasthashram sabhi ashramon men shreshth hai. varn ki drishti se kisi ke sath bhedabhav nahin karana chahie. varn karm se bane hain, janm se nahin.

samata ki bhavana

is puran men dev pooja men samata ki bhavana dharan karane par bal diya gaya hai aur aparadh ka prayashchitt sachche man se karane par zor diya gaya hai. striyon ke prati udar drishtikon apanate hue puranakar kahata hai-

  • nashte mrite pravrajite klive ch patite patau.
  • pnchatsvapastu narinan patiranyon vidhiyate ॥[2] arthath pati ke nasht ho jane par, mar jane par, sannyas grahan kar lene par, napunsak hone par athava patit hone par in panch avasthaon men stri ko doosara pati kar lena chahie.
  • isi prakar yadi kisi stri ke sath koee vyakti balatkar kar baithata hai to us stri ko agale rajodarshan tak tyajy manana chahie. rajasvala ho jane ke uparant vah pun: shuddh ho jati hai. aisa manakar use svikar kar lena chahie.
  • rajadharm ki vyakhya karate hue puranakar kahata hai ki raja ko praja ki raksha usi prakar karani chahie, jis prakar koee garbhini-stri apane garbh men pal rahe bachche ki karati hai.
  • chikitsa shastr ki vyakhya men puran kahata hai ki samast rog atyadhik bhojan grahan karane se hote hain ya bilakul bhi bhojan n karane se. isalie sadaiv santulit ahar lena chahie. adhikanshat: jadi-bootiyon dvara hi isamen rogon ke shaman ka upachar bataya gaya hai.
  • 'agni puran' men bhoogol sambandhi gyan, vrat-upavas-tirthon ka gyan, dan-dakshina adi ka mahattv, vastu-shastr aur jyotish adi ka varnan any puranon ki hi bhanti hai. vastut: tatkalin samaj ki avashyakataon ke anusar hi isamen nity jivan ki upayogi janakari di gee hai.
  • is puran men vraton ka kafi vistrit varnan prapt hota hai. vraton ki soochi tithi, var, mas, ritu adi ke anusar alag-alag banaee gee hai. puranakar ne vraton ko jivan ke vikas ka path mana hai. any puranon men vraton ko dan-dakshina ka sadhana-matr manakar moh dvara utpann akankshaon ki poorti ka madhyam bataya gaya hai. lekin 'agni puran' men vraton ko jivan ke utthan ke lie snkalp ka sparoop mana gaya hai. sath hi vrat-upavas ke samay jivan men atyant sadagi aur dharmik achar-vichar ka palan karane par bhi bal diya gaya hai.
  • 'agni puran' men svapn vichar aur shakun-apashakun par bhi vichar kiya gaya hai. purush aur stri ke lakshanon ki charcha is puran ka atyant mahattvapoorn ansh hai.
  • sarpon ke bare men bhi vistrit janakari is puran men upalabdh hoti hai. mantr shakti ka mahattv bhi isamen svikar kiya gaya hai.
