vivaran 'garud puran' hindoo dharm ke prasiddh dharmik grnthon men se ek hai. vaishnav sampraday se sambandhit 'garud puran' 'sanatan dharm' men mrityu ke bad sadgati pradan karane vala mana jata hai.

any janakari 'garud puran' men bhakti, gyan, vairagy, sadachar, nishkam karm ki mahima ke sath ygy, dan, tap tirth aur shraddh, tarpan, mukti ke upayon tatha jiv ki gati ka vistrit varnan milata hai.

garud puran hindoo dharm ke prasiddh dharmik grnthon men se ek hai. vaishnav sampraday se sambandhit 'garud puran' 'sanatan dharm' men mrityu ke bad sadgati pradan karane vala mana jata hai. isaliye sanatan hindoo dharm men mrityu ke bad 'garud puran' ke shravan ka pravadhan hai. is puran ke adhishthatri dev bhagavan vishnu hain. atharah puranon men 'garud mahapuran' ka apana ek vishesh mahatv hai. kyonki isake dev svayn vishnu mane jate hain, isilie yah vaishnav puran hai. garud puran ke anusar hamare karmon ka phal hamen hamare jivan men to milata hi hai, parntu marane ke bad bhi karyon ka achchha-bura phal milata hai. isi vajah se is gyan ko prapt karane ke lie ghar ke kisi sadasy ki mrityu ke bad ka avasar nirdharit kiya gaya, taki us samay ham janm-mrityu se jude sabhi saty jan sake aur mrityu vash bichhadऩe vale sadasy ka du:kh kam ho sake.

vishnu bhakti

vastavik tathy yah hai ki 'garud puran' men bhagavan vishnu ki bhakti ka vistar se varnan milata hai. vishnu ke chaubis avataron ka varnan thik usi prakar is puran men prapt hota hai, jis prakar 'shrimadbhagavat' men upalabdh hota hai. arambh men manu se srishti ki utpatti, dhruv charitr aur barah adityon ki katha prapt hoti hai. usake uparant soory aur chandr grahon ke mantr, shiv-parvati mantr, indr se sambandhit mantr, sarasvati ke mantr aur nau shaktiyon ke vishay men vistar se bataya gaya hai.

shlok tatha vishay

'garud puran' men unnis hazar shlok kahe jate hain, kintu vartaman samay men kul sat hazar shlok hi upalabdh hain. is puran ko do bhagon men rakhakar dekhana chahie. pahale bhag men vishnu bhakti aur upasana ki vidhiyon ka ullekh hai tatha mrityu ke uparant pray: 'garud puran' ke shravan ka pravadhan hai. doosare bhag men 'pretakalp' ka vistar se varnan karate hue vibhinn narakon men jiv ke padane ka vrittant hai. isamen marane ke bad manushy ki kya gati hoti hai, usaka kis prakar ki yoniyon men janm hota hai, pret yoni se mukt kaise paee ja sakati hai, shraddh aur pitri karm kis tarah karane chahie tatha narakon ke darun du:kh se kaise moksh prapt kiya ja sakata hai adi vishayon ka vistarapoorvak varnan prapt hota hai.

katha

is puran men maharshi kashyap aur takshak nag ko lekar ek sundar upakhyan diya gaya hai. rishi ke shap se jab raja parikshit ko takshak nag dasane ja raha tha, tab marg men usaki bhent kashyap rishi se huee. takshak ne brahman ka vesh dharakar unase poochha ki- "ve is tarah utavali men kahan ja rahe hain?" is par kashyap ne kaha ki- "takshak nag maharaj parikshit ko dasane vala hai. main unaka vish prabhav door karake unhen pun: jivan de doonga." yah sunakar takshak ne apana parichay diya aur unase laut jane ke lie kaha. kyonki usake vish-prabhav se aj tak koee bhi vyakti jivit nahin bacha tha. tab kashyap rishi ne kaha ki- "ve apani mantr shakti se raja parikshit ka vish-prabhav door kar denge." is par takshak ne kaha ki- "yadi aisi bat hai to ap is vriksh ko phir se hara-bhara karake dikhaie. main ise dasakar abhi bhasm kie deta hoon." takshak nag ne nikat hi sthit ek vriksh ko apane vish ke prabhav se tatkal bhasm kar diya.

is par kashyap rishi ne us vriksh ki bhasm ekatr ki aur apana mantr phoonka. tabhi takshak ne ashchary se dekha ki us bhasm men se konpal phoot aeen aur dekhate hi dekhate vah hara-bhara vriksh ho gaya. hairan takshak ne rishi se poochha ki- "ve raja ka bhala karane kis karan se ja rahe hain?" rishi ne uttar diya ki unhen vahan se prachur dhan ki prapti hogi. is par takshak ne unhen unaki sambhavana se bhi adhik dhan dekar vapas bhej diya. garud puran men kaha gaya hai ki- "kashyap rishi ka yah prabhav 'garud puran' sunane se hi bada tha."

sar tattv

is puran men niti sambandhi sar tattv, ayurved, gaya tirth ka mahatmy, shraddh vidhi, dashavatar charitr tatha soory-chandr vnshon ka varnan vistar se prapt hota hai. bich-bich men kuchh any vnshon ka bhi ullekh hai. isake atirikt garoodi vidya mantr pakshi Om svaha aur 'vishnu pnjar stotr' adi ka varnan bhi milata hai. 'garuda puran' men vividh ratnon aur maniyon ke lakshanon ka varnan vistarapoorvak kiya gaya hai. sath hi jyotish shastr, samudrik shastr, sanpon ke lakshan, dharm shastr, vinayak shanti, varnashram dharm vyavastha, vividh vrat-upavas, sampoorn ashtang yog, pativrat dharm mahatmy, jap-tap-kirtan aur pooja vidhan adi ka bhi savistar ullekh hua hai. is puran ke 'pret kalp' men paitis adhyay hain, jisaka prachalan sabase adhik hinduon ke sanatan dharm men hai. in paintis adhyayon men yamalok, pretalok aur pret yoni kyon prapt hoti hai, usake karan, dan mahima, pret yoni se bachane ke upay, anushthan aur shraddh karm adi ka varnan vistar se kiya gaya hai. ye sari baten mrityu ko prapt vyakti ke parivar valon par gahara prabhav dalati hain. ve divngat vyakti ki sadgati aur moksh ke lie puran-vidhan ke anusar bharapoor dan-dakshina dene ke lie tatpar ho jate hain. is puran ka uddeshy bhi yahi jan padata hai.

narak varnan

'garud puran' ke doosare adhyay men yah varnan milata hai, isake anusar-

garud ne kaha- he keshav! yamalok ka marg kis prakar dukhadayi hota hai. papi log vahan kis prakar jate hain, mujhe bataiye. bhagavan bole- he garud! mahanh du:kh pradan karane vale yamamarg ke vishay men main tumase kahata hoon, mera bhakt hone par bhi tum use sunakar kanp uthoge. yamamarg men vriksh ki chhaya nahin hai, ann adi bhi nahin hai, vahan kahin jal bhi nahin hai, vahan pralay kal ki bhanti barah soory tapate hain. us marg se jata hua papi kabhi barphili hava se pidi़t hota hai to kabhi kante chubhate hain. kabhi mahavishadhar sarpon dvara dasa jata hai, kahin agni se jalaya jata hai, kahin sinhon, vyaghron aur bhaynkar kutton dvara khaya jata hai, kahin bichchhuon dvara dasa jata hai.

isake bad vah bhaynkar 'asipatravan' namak narak men pahunchata hai, jo do hazar yojan ke vistar vala hai. yah van kauon, ulluon, gidhon, saraghon tatha daaunson se vyapt hai. usamen charon or davagni hai. vah jiv kahin andhe kuen men girata hai, kahin parvat se girata hai, kahin chhure ki dhar par chalata hai, kahin kilon ke oopar chalata hai, kahin ghane andhakar men girata hai. kahin ugr jal men girata hai, kahin jonkon se bhare hue kichad men girata hai. kahin tapi huee baluka se vyapt aur dhadhakate tamramay marg, kahin angar rashi, kahin atyadhik dhuen se bhare marg par use chalana padata hai. kahin angar vrishti, kahin bijali girane, shilavrishti, kahin rakt ki, kahi shastr ki aur kahin garm jal ki vrishti hoti hai. kahin khare kichad ki vrishti hoti hai. kahin mavad, rakt tatha vishtha se bhare hue talav hain. yamamarg ke bicho-bich atyant ugr aur ghor 'vaitarani nadi' bahati hai. vah dekhane par dukhadayani hai. usaki avaz bhay paida karane vali hai. vah sau yojan chaudi aur pib tatha rakt se bhari hai. haddiyon ke samooh se usake tat bane hain. yah vishal ghadiyalon se bhari hai. he garud! ae papi ko dekhakar vah nadi jvala aur dhoom se bharakar kadah men khaulate ghi ki tarah ho jati hai. yah nadi sooee ke saman mukh vale bhayanak kidon se bhari hai. vajr ke saman chonch vale bade़-bade gidh hain. isake pravah men gire papi 'he bhaee', 'ha putr', 'ha tat'. kahate hue vilap karate hain. bhookh-pyas se vyakul ho papi rakt ka pan karate hain. bahut se bichchhu tatha kale sanpon se vyapt us nadi ke bich men gire hue papiyon ki raksha karane vala koee nahin hai. usake sainkadon, hazaron bhnvaron men padakar papi patal men chale jate hain, kshanabhar men hi oopar chale ate hain. kuchh papi pash men bndhe hote hain. kuchh ankush men phnsa kar khinche jate hain aur kuchh koon dvara khinche jate hain. ve papi garadan hath pairon men jnjiron se bndhe hote hain. unaki pith par lohe ke bhar hote hain. atynt ghor yamadooton dvara mugadaron se pite jate hue rakt vaman karate hain tatha vaman kiye rakt ko pite hain. ---is prakar satrah din tak vayu veg se chalate hue athaharaven din vah pret saumyapur men jata hai.[1]

'garud puran' ka yah varnan jahir hai ki manushyon ko dharmacharan aur pap se door rakhane ke lie hi racha gaya hoga.

mrityu ke bad kya hota hai

'mrityu ke bad kya hota hai?' yah ek aisa prashn hai, jisaka uttar janane ki ichchha sabhi ko hoti hai. sabhi apane-apane tariqe se isaka uttar bhi dete hain. 'garud puran' bhi isi prashn ka uttar deta hai. jahan dharm shuddh aur saty acharan par bal deta hai, vahin pap-puny, naitikata-anaitikata, karttavy-akarttavy tatha inake shubh-ashubh phalon par bhi vichar karata hai. vah ise tin avasthaon men vibhakt kar deta hai-

dhruv ji mandir, madhuvan
  1. pratham avastha men manav ko samast achchhe-bure karmon ka phal isi jivan men prapt hota hai.
  2. doosari avastha men mrityu ke uparant manushy vibhinn chaurasi lakh yoniyon men se kisi ek men apane karmanusar janm leta hai.
  3. tisari avastha men vah apane karmon ke anusar svarg ya narak men jata hai.

svarg-narak

hindoo dharm ke shastron men uparyukt tin prakar ki avasthaon ka khulakar vivechan hua hai. jis prakar chaurasi lakh yoniyan hain, usi prakar chaurasi lakh narak bhi hain, jinhen manushy apane karmaphal ke roop men bhogata hai. 'garud puran' ne isi svarg-narak vali vyavastha ko chunakar usaka vistar se varnan kiya hai. isi karan bhayabhit vyakti adhik dan-puny karane ki or pravritt hota hai.

  • 'pret kalp' men kaha gaya hai ki narak men jane ke pashchath prani pret banakar apane parijanon aur sambandhiyon ko anekanek kashton se pratadit karata rahata hai. vah parayi stri aur paraye dhan par drishti gadae vyakti ko bhari kasht pahunchata hai.
  • jo vyakti doosaron ki sampatti hadap kar jata hai, mitr se droh karata hai, vishvasaghat karata hai, brahman athava mandir ki sampatti ka haran karata hai, striyon aur bachchon ka sngrahit dhan chhin leta hai, parayi stri se vyabhichar karata hai, nirbal ko satata hai, eeshvar men vishvas nahin karata, kanya ka vikray karata hai; mata, bahan, putri, putr, stri, putrabadhu adi ke nirdosh hone par bhi unaka tyag kar deta hai, aisa vyakti pret yoni men avashy jata hai. use anekanek narakiy kasht bhogana padata hai. usaki kabhi mukti nahin hoti. aise vyakti ko jite-ji anek rog aur kasht gher lete hain. vyapar men hani, garbhanash, grih kalah, jvar, krishi ki hani, santan mrityu adi se vah dukhi hota rahata hai akal mrityu usi vyakti ki hoti hai, jo dharm ka acharan aur niyamon ko palan nahin karata tatha jisake achar-vichar dooshit hote hain. usake dushkarm hi use 'akal mrityu' men dhakel dete hain.
  • 'garud puran' men pret yoni aur narak men padane se bachane ke upay bhi sujhae ge hain. unamen sarvadhik pramukh upay dan-dakshina, pindadan tatha shraddh karm adi batae ge hain.
  • sarvadhik prasiddh pret kalp ke atirikt is puran men 'atmgyan' ke mahattv ka bhi pratipadan kiya gaya hai. paramatma ka dhyan hi atmgyan ka sabase saral upay hai. use apane man aur indriyon par snyam rakhana param avashyak hai. is prakar karmakand par sarvadhik bal dene ke uparant 'garud puran' men gyani aur satyavrati vyakti ko bina karmakand kie bhi sadgati prapt kar paralok men uchch sthan prapt karane ki vidhi bataee gee hai.
