uttara virat nagar, jo ki mahabharat kal ka ek prasiddh janapad tha, ke raja virat aur unaki rani sudeshna ki kanya thi. usaka vivah pandav arjun ke putr abhimanyu se hua tha. jab pandav agyatavas kar rahe the, us samay arjun brihannala nam grahan karake virat ke mahal men rah rahe the. brihannala ne uttara ko nrity, sngit adi ki shiksha di thi. jab kauravon ne raja virat ki samast gayen hastagat kar lin, us samay arjun ne kauravon se yuddh karake arpoov parakram dikhaya tha. arjun ki us virata se prabhavit hokar raja virat ne apani kanya uttara ka vivah arjun se karane ka prastav rakha, kintu arjun ne yah kahakar ki uttara unaki shishya hone ke karan unaki putri ke saman hai, unhonne is prastav ko asvikar kar diya. kintu arjun ne apane putr abhimanyu se uttara vivah svikar kar liya.

parichay

uttara matsy-mahip virat aur rani sudeshna ki putri thi. isake bhaee ka nam uttar tha. kauravon dvara dyoot krida men hara diye jane ke bad pandavon ne barah varsh ka agyatavas svikar kiya. isi dauran arjun ne brihannala nam rakhakar svayn ko nrity, git aur sngit adi ka kushal hijada batalaya. vah raja virat ke ranivas men rajakumari uttara ko nachana-gana adi sikhane ke lie rakh liye gaye. ranivas men bharti karane se pahale virat ki agya pakar striyon ne har tarah se pariksha karake unhen hijada hi paya. vahan arjun rajakumari uttara ko nachane-gane ki shiksha bade achchhe dhng se dene lage. unake vyavahar se rajakumari un par sntusht rahati thi.

vivah

jab maharaj virat ne yah suna ki unake putr uttar ne samast kaurav paksh ke yoddhaon ko parajit karake apani gayon ko lauta liya hai, tab ve anandatirek men apane putr ki prashnsa karane lage. is par 'knk' (yudhishthir) ne kaha- "jisaki sarathi brihannala (arjun) ho, usaki vijay to nishchit hi hai". maharaj virat ko yah asahy ho gaya ki rajyasabha men pasa bichhane ke liye niyukt, brahman knk unake putr ke badale napunsak brihannala ki prashnsa kar raha hai. unhonne pasa khinchakar knk ko de mara, jisase knk ki nasika se rakt nikalane laga. sairandhri bani huee draupadi daudi aee aur samane katori rakhakar knk ki nasika se nikalate hue rakt ko bhoomi par girane se bachaya. jab raja virat ko tisare din pata laga ki unhonne knk ke vesh men apane yahan nivas kar rahe maharaj yudhishthir ka hi apaman kiya hai, tab unhen apane-ap par atyant khed hua. unhonne anajan men hue aparadhon ke parimarjan aur pandavon se sthayi maitri-sthapana ke uddeshy se apani putri uttara aur arjun ke vivah ka prastav kiya. is par arjun ne kaha- 'rajanh! mainne kumari uttara ko brihannala ke roop men varsh bhar nrity aur sngit ki shiksha di hai. yadi main rajakumari ko patni roop men svikar karata hoon to log mujh par aur apaki putri ke charitr par sndeh karenge aur guru-shishy ki parampara ka apaman hoga. rajakumari mere liye putri ke saman hai. isaliye apane putr abhimanyu ki patni ke roop men main uttara ko svikar karata hoon. bhagavan shrikrishn ke bhanaje ko jamata ke roop men svikar karana apake liye bhi gaurav ki bat hogi.' sabhi ne arjun ki dharmanishtha ki prashnsa ki aur uttara ka vivah abhimanyu se sampann ho gaya.

'he uttara ke dhan raho

chakravyooh men pravesh

yuddh men pandavon ki sena abhimanyu ke pichhe-pichhe chali aur jahan se vyooh todakar abhimanyu andar ghusa tha, vahin se vyooh ke andar pravesh karane lagi. yah dekh sindhu desh ka parakrami raja jayadrath, jo dhritarashtr ka damad tha, apani sena ko lekar pandav-sena par toot pada. jayadrath ke is sahasapoorn kam aur soojh ko dekhakar kaurav sena men utsah ki lahar daud gee. kaurav sena ke sabhi vir usi jagah ikatthe hone lage, jahan jayadrath pandav-sena ka rasta roke hue khada tha. shighr hi toote morachon ki dararen bhar gee. jayadrath ke rath par chandi ka shookar-dhvaj phahara raha tha. use dekh kaurav-sena ki shakti bahut badh gee aur usamen naya utsah bhar gaya. vyooh ko bhedakar abhimanyu ne jahan se rasta banaya tha, vahan itane sainik akar ikatthe ho gaye ki vyooh phir pahale jaisa hi mazaboot ho gaya.

jayadrath ki virata

vyooh ke dvar par ek taraph yudhishthir, bhimasen aur doosari or jayadrath yuddh chhid gaya. yudhishthir ne jo bhala phenkakar mara to jayadrath ka dhanush katakar gir gaya. palak jhapakate hi jayadrath ne doosara dhanush utha liya aur das ban yudhishthir par chhode. bhimasen ne banon ki bauchhar se jayadrath ka dhanush kat diya. rath ki dhvaja aur chhatari ko tod-phod diya aur ranabhoomi men gira diya. us par bhi sindhuraj nahin ghabaraya. usane phir ek doosara dhanush le liya aur banon se bhimasen ka dhanush kat dala. palabhar men hi bhimasen ke rath ke ghode dher ho gaye. bhimasen ko lachar ho rath se utarakar satyaki ke rath par chadhana pada. jayadrath ne jis kushalata aur bahaduri se thik samay par vyooh ki tooti qilebndi ko phir se poora karake mazaboot bana diya, usase padnv bahar hi rah gaye. abhimanyu vyooh ke andar akela rah gaya. par akele abhimanyu ne vyooh ke andar hi kauravon ki us vishal sena ko tahas-nahas karana shuroo kar diya. jo bhi usake samane ata, khatm ho jata tha.

abhimanyu ki varagati

duryodhan ka putr lakshman abhi balak tha, kintu usamen virata ki abha phoot rahi thi. usako bhay chhoo tak nahin paya tha. abhimanyu ki ban varsha se vyakul hokar jab sabhi yoddha pichhe hatane lage to vir lakshman akela jakar abhimanyu se bhid pada. balak ki is nirbhayata ko dekh bhagati huee kaurav sena phir se ikatthi ho gee aur lakshman ka sath dekar ladane lagi. sabane ek sath hi abhimanyu par ban varsha kar di, kintu vah abhimanyu par is prakar lagi jaise parvat par meh barasata ho. duryodhan putr apane adabhut parakram ka parichay deta hua virata se yuddh karata raha. ant men abhimanyu ne us par ek bhala chalaya. kenchuli se nikale sanp ki tarah chamakata hua vah bhala vir lakshman ke bade zor se ja laga. sundar nasika aur sundar bhaunho vala, chamakile ghungharale kesh aur jagamate kundalon se vibhooshit vah vir balak bhale ki chot se tatkal mrit hokar gir pada. yah dekh kaurav-sena men hahakar kar uthi. "papi abhimanyu ka kshan vadh karo." duryodhan ne chillakar kaha aur dron, ashvatthama, vrihadabal, kritavarma adi chhah maharathiyon ne abhimanyu ko charon or se gher liya. dron ne karn ke pas akar kaha- "isaka kavach bheda nahin ja sakata. thik se nishana bandhakar isake rath ke ghodon ki ras kat dalo aur pichhe ki or se is par astr chalao." vyooh ke antim charan men kaurav paksh ke sabhi maharathi yuddh ke manadndon ko bhulakar vir balak abhimanyu par toot pade, jis karan usane viragati prapt ki.

parikshit ka janm

mahabharat ke sngram men arjun snsaptakon se yuddh karane ke liye door chale gaye the aur dronachary ne isi sthiti ka labh uthane ke lie unaki anupasthiti men chakravyooh ka nirman kiya tha. bhagavan shnkar ke varadan se jayadrath ne sabhi pandavon ko chakravyooh men pravesh karane se rok diya. akele abhimunyu hi vyooh men pravesh kar paye. mahavir abhimanyu ne adbhut parakram ka pradarshan kiya tha. unhonne kaurav-paksh ke pramukh maharathiyon ko bar-bar haraya. ant men sabhi maharathiyon ne ek sath milakar anyayapoorvak abhimanyu ka vadh kar diya. uttara us samay garbhavati thin. bhagavanh shrikrishn ne unhen ashvasan dekar pati ke sath sati hone se rok diya. jab ashvatthama ne draupadi ke panch putron ko mar dala tatha shivir men ag lagakar bhag gaya, tab arjun ne usako pakad kar draupadi ke sammukh upasthit kiya. vadhy hone ke bad bhi draupadi ne use mukt kara diya, kintu us naradham ne kritgy hone ke badale pandavon ka vnsh hi nirmool karane ke liye brahmastr ka prayog uttara ke garbh par kiya. uttara ki karun pukar sunakar bhagavanh shrikrishn ne sookshamaroop se unake garbh men pravesh karake pandavon ke ek matr vnshadhar ki brahmastr se raksha ki, kintu janm ke samay balak mrit paida hua.

yah samachar sunakar bhagavan shrikrishn ne sootikagrih men pravesh kiya. uttara pagali ki bhanti mrit balak ko god men uthakar kahane lagi- "beta! tribhuvan ke svami tumhare samane khade hain. too dharmatma tatha shilavan pita ka putr hai. yah ashishtata achchhi nahin. in sarveshvar ko pranam kar socha tha ki tujhe god men lekar in sarvadhar ke charanon men mastak rakhoongi, kintu sari ashaen nasht ho gayin." bhaktavatsal bhagavan shrikrishn ne tatkal jal chhidak kar balak ko jivanadan diya. sahasa balak ka shvas chalane laga. charon or anand ki lahan daud gayi. pandavon ka yahi vnshadhar parikshit ke nam se prasiddh hua. bhagavadbhakti aur vishvas ki anupam pratik sati uttara dhany hain.
