dvivedi yug men devakinandan khatri, gopalaram gahamari, kishorilal gosvami adi rachanakaron ne tilasmi evn jasoosi upanyas likhe jo ki un dinon atyant lokapriy hue. devakinandan khatri ji ki “chandrakanta” upanyas to logon ko itani bhayi ki lakho logon ne use padhane ke lie hindi sikha. tilasmi aur jasoosi upanyason ke lekhakon ke atirikt premachand, vrindavanalal varma, achary chaturasen shastri, vishvambhar nath kaushik, chandradhar sharma ‘guleri’, sudarshan, jayashnkar ‘prasad’ adi dvivedi yug ke sahityakar rahe.[1]

merath kshetr ki sudirgh sahityik parnpara rahi hai. yahan ke sahityakaron ne hindi sahity men n keval is kshetr ke janajivan ke sanskritik paksh ko abhivyakt kiya, balki is anchal ki bhashik snvedana ko bhi pahachan di. in sahityakaron ke bina hindi sahity ka itihas poora nahin ho sakata. 26 agast, 1891 ko bulndashahar ke chndok men janme achary chaturasen shastri ne 32 upanyas, 450 kahaniyan aur anek natakon ka srijan kar hindi sahity ko samriddh kiya. aitihasik upanyason ke madhyam se unhonne kee avismaraniy charitr hindi sahity ko pradan kie. somanath, vayn raksham:, vaishali ki nagaravadhoo, aparajita, kesari sinh ki rihaee, dharmaputr, khagras, patthar yug ke do but, bagula ke pnkh unake mahattvapoorn upanyas hain. char khndon men likhe ge sona aur khoon ke doosare bhag men 1857 ki kranti ke dauran merath anchal men logon ki shahadat ka marmik varnan kiya gaya hai. goli upanyas men rajasthan ke raja-maharajaon aur dasiyon ke snbndhon ko ukerate hue samakalin samaj ko rekhankit kiya gaya hai. apani samarth bhasha shaili ke chalate shastriji ne adbhut lokapriyata hasil ki aur vah jan sahityakar bane.[3]

inaki prakashit rachanaon ki snkhya 186 hai, jo apane hi men ek kirtiman hai. achary chaturasen mukhyat: apane upanyason ke lie charchit rahe hain. inake pramukh upanyason ke nam hain-

inaki sarvadhik charchit kritiyan ‘vaishali ki nagaravadhoo’, ‘vayn raksham’ aur ‘somanath’ hain. ham yahan ‘vaishali ki nagaravadhoo’ ki vistrit charcha karenge, jo ki in tinon kritiyon men sarvashreshth hai. yah bat koee in pnktiyon ka lekhak nahin kah raha, balki svayn achary shastri ne is pustak ke sambandh men ullikhit kiya hai - main ab tak ki apani sari rachanaon ko radd karata hoon, aur vaishali ki nagaravadhoo ko apani ekamatr rachana ghoshit karata hoon. bhoomika men unhonne svayn hi is kriti ke kathanak par apani sahamati di hai -yah saty hai ki yah upanyas hai. parantu isase adhik saty yah hai ki yah ek gambhir rahasyapoorn snket hai, jo us kale parde ke prati hai, jisaki ot men aryon ke dharm, sahity, rajasatta aur snskriti ki parajay, mishrit jatiyon ki pragatishil vijay sahasrabdiyon se chhipi huee hai, jise sambhavat: kisi itihasakar ne ankh ughadakar dekha nahin hai.
